HEMPFIELD TOWNSHIP, Pa. —
Two men were injured Thursday afternoon when the cellphone tower they were erecting collapsed in Hempfield Township, Westmoreland County.
Firefighters and paramedics used all-terrain vehicles to rescue the pair from a hilltop wooded area above Route 130 near Jeannette.
Shaw said the unidentified men were putting together a new section of the tower when it shifted just after 12:30 p.m. and they fell about 30 feet.Jamie Shaw, Hempfield's director of code and safety, said the U.S. Occupational Safety and Health Administration will investigate the incident.
