It's unclear if there were any injuries in the crash.
The bridge reopened to all traffic shortly after 6 p.m.
The span carries Route 8 across the Allegheny River between the borough of Sharpsburg and the Pittsburgh city neighborhoods of Morningside and Lawrenceville.
